Siete Traducciones is a volume of seven major poems in English translated into Spanish by the poet Delis Negrón. The translations were originally published as part of his magnum opus, PALABRAS, Poesías por Delis Negrón.
The works include Edwin Markham’s The Man with the Hoe, Oscar Wilde’s La Bella Donna Della Mia Mente, and five poems by Edgar Allan Poe: The Raven, Eldorado, Annabel Lee, Eulalie, and The Bells.
The marvel of these translations−which are presented side by side with the English originals−is that Negrón retains the poems’ rhythms and rhyme schemes while conveying their meaning with astonishing fidelity.
